Your highschool art or physics teacher probably taught you that when you add all the primary colors of light then you get white light. It is completely opposite for RGB channels. If there is no ink on the paper then it will appear white. If you put the ink on the paper then the paper will be colored. Think of this as ink on a white newspaper.
